However, for titanium dental implants, the standard and safest medical protocol requires two visits: the first visit takes 3 to 5 days to place the implants into the jawbone (and fit temporary teeth). After a healing and osseointegration period of 3 to 6 months, you return for a second visit of 5 to 7 days so the dentist can fit your permanent zirconium or porcelain crowns onto the healed implants.
